Kristen Rice, MPH

Kristen is a Project Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Center for Health and Media in Pittsburgh. Kristen received her master's degree in Public Health in 2008 form the University of Pittsburgh. Her focus was Behavioral and Community Health and Public Health Preparedness and Disaster Response. Her undergraduate work was also completed at the University of Pittsburgh and included degrees in both Psychology and Sociology. Her research experience has involved projects with diverse areas of interest including: mental health, violence and substance abuse; management of chronic pain in elderly populations; patient safety; and currently adolescents and media literacy education.

Mary Carroll, BA

Mary is a Research Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s Center for Health and Media in Pittsburgh. Mary received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Linguistics in 2007 from the University of Pittsburgh. She served as a Community Health Education volunteer for the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan from 2008-2010. She is currently working towards a second bachelor’s degree in nursing and plans to become a nurse scientist specializing in women’s health. Her research experience includes projects on music and substance abuse, adolescent health and media literacy.
