Micah and I went to Antigua, Guatemala to have an adventure of our own. We lived with locals and took daily Spanish classes at a school.

We also learned how to make local vegetarian cuisine, including pepian, atol, and tortillas

But our best meal was vegan Venezuelan -- arepas!

We spent some time in a lovely jungle-like setting ...

... where bananas grew

And lots of other unfamiliar plantlife

Including real cotton plants

We also took a boat onto the lake

As we rowed we took a detour so Micah could explore a lighthouse
