Pitt Tidbits

September 2018

It's been a great fall in my new role as Dean of the Honors College at Pitt.

I helped create some new fellowships focused on the arts. Here is the work of one of our students.

Another art installation

I instituted the Community Cafe during which students, staff, and faculty talk about community engagement issues and projects. Here's Emma with Aidan, the service dog she's training.

We created a course where high school students learn data science through their communities.

For fun I built an invisible bookshelf.

For our national lecture series, I brought a speaker very compelling to youth.

We have peregrine falcons living on the building!

The students put some art supplies in the shape of our logo for an event welcoming the new students.

We have all kinds of new daily events -- it's much more lively!

Pitt's icon: The Cathedral of Learning

I created a new series just for faculty to bond and share with each other.
