Taking Advantage of the Winter

January 2014

Yes, it can get cold and snowy in Pittsburgh in the winter. But that just means more time for skiing, indoor sports, comfy hats, and snuggling! Here are a few of the thing we did this winter. One of the highlights was definitely taking advantage of the ski slopes at Boyce Park. It is small, but it was just the right size for us, and at 20 minutes away from home, it couldn't have been more convenient. Enjoy, and click a picture to enlarge it!

Guess how old Micah turned this month?!

Sadie and Micah show off their "best friends" necklaces which fit together just right. In the background is the indoor soccer court.

Skiing at Boyce!

Sadie and I went on a date to the Science Center.

The kids reading in their snuggly beanbag chairs that Jen sewed.

Micah made the all-city chorus this year.

Another skiing adventure at Boyce.

During the last hour of the session, we got these gorgeous big snowflakes!

We worked up just enough appetite for a root beer float.

And someone fell asleep on the way home.

As I said, winter can be good for cuddling.

Bye bye front tooth!

One time, when Sadie was at a party, just Micah and I went skiing.

He learned some freestyling on that excursion.

Micah and his friend Ethan had a joint birthday party.

With some pretty silly friends!
