Zooplankton

Zooplankton are tiny animals that can live in all kinds of water, whether it is salty like the ocean or fresh like a lake. Even though the first three letters look like "zoo," it isn't pronounced that way. Instead, you say "zoh-oh-plankton." In Greek, the "zoh-oh" part of its name means "animal," and the "plankton" part of its name means "drifter."
